When a lot is animating simultaneously, animation can creep to a crawl, especially on the machine I develop on (a Mac). There is a simple solution to this: let a sound play along with the animation.
The sound will be given preference by Flash so that it won't stutter. Effectively the animation will skip frames if it can't get along. This way you will always have the animation play at a constant rate.
Download the MP3 file below and import it to your project FLA. Select a frame where the animation is playing, and in the panel select the just imported sound. It is important that you play the sound as stream, not as event.
